POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS: Strong eye irritation. Skin irritation.
May be harmful if swallowed. POTENTIAL HAZARDS OUTSIDE OF NORMAL
USE CONDITIONS: Product may decompose at elevated temperatures
or under fire conditions and give off irritating, noxious and
toxic vapors/fumes. Symptoms from acute exposure in confined
spaces may include headache, nausea, eye, nose and throat
irritation. With prolonged exposure, serious health consequences
such as lung damage and death may occur if exposures are allowed
to continue without proper respiratory protection. Minimize
     breathing vapor/fume/smoke.
For further health effects/toxicological data, see Section 11.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
EYE CONTACT: Flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Get
immediate medical assistance. If medical assistance is not
immediately available, flush an additional 15 minutes. Instill
local anesthetic eyedrops to facilitate irrigation, if available.
SKIN CONTACT: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash contact areas with
soap and water. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
INHALATION: Remove from further exposure. If respiratory irritation,
dizziness, nausea, or unconsciousness occurs, seek immediate
medical assistance. If breathing has stopped, assist ventilation
with bag-valve-mask device or use mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
INGESTION: Seek immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting.
NOTE TO PHYSICIANS: Material if aspirated into the lungs may cause
     chemical pneumonitis. Treat appropriately.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Not applicable.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Minimize breathing of gases, vapors,
fumes, or decomposition products. Water or foam may cause
frothing. Use water to keep fire exposed containers cool. Water
spray may be used to flush spills away from exposure. Prevent
runoff from fire control or dilution from entering streams,
     sewers, or drinking water supply.
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: For fires in enclosed areas, fire
fighters must use self-contained breathing apparatus.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: None.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL DATA
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         ---ACUTE TOXICOLOGY---
ORAL TOXICITY (RATS): Harmful (LD50: greater than 200 but 2000 mg/kg
or less). ---Based on testing of similar products and/or the
     components.
DERMAL TOXICITY (RABBITS): Practically non-toxic (LD50: greater than
2000 mg/kg). ---Based on testing of similar products and/or the
     components.
INHALATION TOXICITY (RATS): Not established
EYE IRRITATION (RABBITS): Strong irritant. (Draize score: greater
than 35 but 55 or less). ---Based on testing of similar products
     and/or the components.
SKIN IRRITATION (RABBITS): Irritant. (Primary Irritation Index: 3
or greater but less than 5). ---Based on testing of similar
     products and/or the components.
OTHER ACUTE TOXICITY DATA: Vapors and/or aerosols which may be formed
at elevated temperatures may be irritating to eyes and
     respiratory tract.
                     ---NEUROTOXICOLOGY (SUMMARY)---
This product contains tributyl phosphate (TBP), which when give in
large oral doses (4 g/kg) to hens caused delayed nerve damage
that resulted in loss of coordination and difficulty in walking.
These effects were not observed in hens give 2 g/kg. In another
study, hens given 3 g/kg also showed no effects. continuous
daily dermal exposure to 50 mg/kg of this material for 5
days/week for 4 months similarly did not result in any nerve
damage in hens. Evaluations of the manufacturer's workers who
make this and similar chemicals have not demonstrated any unusual
pattern of mortality or disease. There should be no risk of
nerve damage to workers who handle this product when the
precautions outlined are followed to minimize exposure.
                   ---CHRONIC TOXICOLOGY (SUMMARY)---
Tributyl phosphate has been shown to be neither a mutagen nor a
clastogen in genotoxicity studies conducted in vivo and in vitro.
In a long term feeding study in mice (18 month), TBP caused an
increased incidence of benign liver tumors in male CD-1 mice
(high dose only, 3500 ppm; NOEL 1000 ppm). No tumors were
observed in female mice in this study. In male and female CD
rats, a chronic feeding study (24 month) resulted in benign and
malignant tumors of the urinary bladder in both sexes at 700 and
3000 ppm. The combined data from the rat and mouse long term
feeding studies suggest a possible risk of irreversible effects
from TBP. However, a recent mechanistic study in rats conducted
with TBP suggests that the urinary bladder hyperplasia produced
by TBP may be reversible. An independent risk assessment
concluded that exposure to TBP during routine workplace handling
and industrial exposure by all routes will not increase the risk
of bladder cancer among exposed individuals.
